Murchison falls National Parks is located in the North Western region of Uganda and lies at the Northern end of the Albertine rift valley covering an area of 3893sq.km making it the largest and oldest savannah park to be gazzeted. The park is in Buliisa district in the Western and Nwoya in the Northern.
The park is a habitat of 76 mammal species, 451 bird species and the largest Nile crocodiles. The park is attached to two wildlife reserves Bugungu and Karuma. Murchison falls national park can be visited all year round, and on the trip one is able to spot lions, African elephants, Rothschild giraffes, herds of buffalos, antelopes, karuma falls and the powerful Murchison falls and various accommodation facilities are available ranging from medium, budget and for up country market visitors.
