Kibale Forest



Kibale national park is one of the existing and ready to be explored tropical rain forest greatly known for chimpanzee tracking in Uganda. These can be seen while trekking through the forest and it is also a home to 13 primate species including the L’Hoest, red colobus, black and white colobus and the endemic Uganda mangabay, 375 bird species, 70 mammal species and 351 plant species.
The park covers an area of 776sq.km and occupies districts of Kabarole, Kamwenge and Kibale district. Kibale adjoins Queen Elizabeth National Park to the South through 180km long corridor between Ishasha the Southern sector of Queen and Sebitoli in the North of Kibale National Park. While in Kibale one can involve in bird watching at Kanyanchu, Bigodi wetland sanctuary just outside the park, nature and community walks.
