Day one: arrive at Kigali international airport
Our guide will pick you from the airport and be transferred to Kigali for a city tour. We shall have a short visit to the genocide memorial centre Gisozi where victims of the Tutsi genocide are buried since 2000 and after transfer to your booked accommodation facility for dinner and over night stay in Kigali.
Day two: transfer to Nyungwe national park
The guide will pick you from your accommodation facility after your breakfast and head to Nyungwe forest national park Rwanda’s most important area with the highest number of bio diversity that’s covers one of Africa’s oldest rain forests then have a stop over at Nyanza established Rwanda’s first permanent royal province later proceed to Nyungwe forest for a relaxed dinner and over night stay
Day three: chimpanzee tracking
Early morning breakfast then depart for a guided nature walk in Nyungwe forest in search of chimpanzees, L’hoest monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys .chimpanzee tracking is unpredictable and it not granted that you will see them since they move long distances. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation
Day four: transfer to kibuye
Early morning breakfast then drive to Lake Kivu for exploration. Visit the genocide memorial of Bisesero which is 25km away from kibuye where more than 27,000 victims were buried here after being betrayed by a French soldier. Lunch then spend the afternoon relaxed on the shores of Lake Kivu which is Rwanda’s largest lake.
Day five: drive to volcanoes national park
Breakfast then enjoy a speed boat trip to Gisenyi and be picked up for lunch then drive to Rushengeri for an over night stay
Day six: gorilla tracking
Early morning breakfast and drive to volcanoes national park headquarters for briefing then trek through the lush, dense forested slopes of the Virunga is quite an absolutely memorable though you need to be physically fit and carry packed lunch because it’s not easy to determine how long it would take you to find the gorillas. You will spend one hour with the gorillas then have lunch in the forest and prepare to return to the lodge. In the afternoon you may visit the neighbouring communities to the park or relax at your lodge.
Day seven: Dian Fossey grave hike
Have breakfast then hike up to the grave of Dian Fossey known as the gorilla cemetery within the formerly Karisoke research centre which was deserted during the wars of 1990’s with some light food for your lunch. You will follow in Dian Fossey’s footsteps in karisoke a site that she had constructed for her deceased gorilla friends, as well as the graves belonging to many poached gorillas including famous digit lying next to her grave. Memorial services were also held in New York, Washington and California. The setting is incredible and one can imagine the incredible life that Dian Fossey led in these isolated mountains alone. After the hike, you may decide to visit the twin lakes; Ruhondo and Bulera. Memorial services were also held in New York, Washington and California
Day eight: transfer to Uganda
After breakfast drive to the Rwanda - Uganda border have a stop over at Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation then proceed to Bwindi for dinner and over night stay.
Day nine: gorilla tracking
After breakfast the drive will drive you to the park headquarters for briefing before you go trekking of the rare mountain gorillas through a true African tropical rain forest. This creates a thrilling experience observing these close cousins of ours in one hour feed, groom, and interact as you take photographs and then return to the meeting point after having lunch in the forest. In the evening you can go for a community walk to learn about people’s culture, and people’s way of life. Return for dinner and relaxed night.
Day ten: drive to Kampala
Have breakfast, check out and drive back to Kampala with lunch break on route and drop off at your hotel.
Day eleven: Kampala city tour
Explore Kampala’s outstanding attractions like cathedrals, mosques, Uganda museum, local markets, and also souvenirs shopping and later be transferred to Entebbe international airport for find your departure flight
